I'm leaving Scotchtown! Sad, sad day. But mostly, my heart is filled with gratitude for the time I have been able to serve here. I love this area with my whole self! The people are so unique and amazing. They have changed my life.
Brother Hernandez is sooo ready to get baptized! He studies for about an hour every morning, and he knows all about the lessons before we even teach them. It's awesome! This week, we were talking about enduring to the end, and he said. "It is like with boxing. It doesn't matter if you're a champion once. You have to keep fighting like a champion!" I like that!
We also taught the Bowyers. Their car is getting taken away, and they live about an hour and 20 minutes from the church, so it's tricky getting them rides. Please pray for them! Tiffany has a great testimony, and I believe she will be baptized very soon. There is 15 step stop-smoking lesson the sisters are doing with her this week. So hopefully that goes well. I can't wait until that cute little family goes to the temple. Love them!
This week, a member was at a thrift store out in a place called Frog Level (waaay middle of nowhere,) and he struck up a conversation with a lady who was working there. Somehow, the church came up, and it turns out, she saw an lds quad the store and bought it! So she has the Book of Mormon, D&C, and everything! He told her to read the story of Ammon and then sent us her way. Her name is Jennifer, and she's awesome! She has tons of faith in God, and reeeeeeally likes to talk. haha. She also has 2 little boys with autism, and they are the cutest kids ever.
We taught the activity days girls on Wednesday and that was super fun. We had them build straw towers and compared it to building a testimony. They were so cute.
So many great things are happening in this area, and I feel so grateful for the last 4.5 months I've been able to spend here! It's tough to leave, but I'm excited for a new adventure. I know whitewashing while training is going to be very difficult, but I have faith that the Lord will help me. Please keep me in your prayers and also Sister Munford.
Thank you for all your prayers and love and support. This gospel is just the best. I know God loves each of us and wants us to succeed. Families are eternal, and they're a good chunk of what life's all about! I'm so grateful that we can be together forever! I love ya'll!
